Tomkinsons’ green initiative helps businesses move towards net zero
August 2025
Leading providers of warehousing and logistics space, Tomkinsons, have introduced a number of green initiatives to help their clients boost sustainability.
Tomkinsons’ main location, Willows Business Park in Kent, now operates predominantly on renewable energy from over 270 solar panels - with plans for the site to become fully solar-powered in the near future.
“Achieving net zero is a goal for almost every business across the UK, which is why we’ve introduced a number of green initiatives to the warehousing and commercial space we provide, to help boost sustainability for our clients” says Mark Tomkinson, Managing Director of Tomkinsons.
Tomkinsons provide warehousing, commercial, office and multipurpose space to a variety of businesses, including importers, manufacturers, printers, wellness providers and a gym. They also deliver third-party logistics for a number of clients.
Their green initiative extends beyond solar power, with other upgrades intended to reduce the level of energy their premises and clients consume.
All warehouses, offices and commercial units have been fitted with low-energy LED lighting and energy-efficient air-conditioning and heating to help businesses reduce their everyday costs and environmental impact.
Easy-to-access recycling points are now located throughout the site and EV charging points have been installed to encourage clients, staff and visitors to use electric vehicles while travelling to, from and for work.
“Transport plays a major role in carbon emissions, so we’re keen to help both our own staff and our clients to be part of the transition to more sustainable electric vehicles” continues Mark.
Tomkinsons have also become advocates for public transport, with a green travel plan which highlights the local train links to London and other mainlines, all within just three minutes’ walk of Willow Business Park.
“Becoming more sustainable benefits both the planet and our clients, with energy efficiency significantly reducing costs, especially over the period of a lease for warehousing, commercial or office space. We’re looking forward to developing our green initiative further to help more businesses across the South East achieve their sustainability goals” concludes Mark.
Tomkinsons have almost 70 years’ experience delivering warehousing, office and commercial space. In addition, they also providing warehousing, logistics and transport services, including receiving, storing and dispatching goods as a third-part logistics provider.
