Historic ‘Fruit Show Warehouse’ provides ideal base for modern businesses in 2025

Once home to The Marden Fruit Show and visited by royalty, the ‘Fruit Show Warehouse’ has provided a base for businesses for over 60 years.
Until 1991, it was used annually to stage a trade show for fruit growers and was visited in 1953 by the Queen Mother and 1984 by Queen Elizabeth II. Now known as the ‘National Fruit Show’, the event is held at the Kent Showground.
However, while the building still bears the name ‘Fruit Show Warehouse’ it now offers extensive commercial space suitable for a range of modern businesses.
“The Fruit Show Warehouse holds a special place in our family’s and Marden’s history. It’s been great to see the warehouse evolve over 60 years to support new generations of businesses while still preserving a piece of its history” says Mark Tomkinson, Director of Tomkinsons.
The Fruit Show Warehouse was bought by Gerald Grainger Tomkinson in 1964 from The Marden Fruit Show Society and is owned and managed by leading provider of warehousing, office and multipurpose space, Tomkinsons.
Today, the Fruit Show Warehouse is split between six units and offers over 55,000 square feet of space. The site benefits from modern infrastructure and its location in Marden, Kent, means it offers excellent transport links to London and the South East. As part of a recent refurbishment, the entire site is now called the ‘Fruit Show Business Park’.
“The Fruit Show Business Park is already home to diverse businesses and, with 36,000 square feet still available, it’s an ideal base for any company looking for a versatile, modern and well-connected base” adds Mark.
With easy access for both goods vehicles and visitors, the space is situated in a commercial estate brimming with businesses ranging from worldwide distributers and printers, to manufacturers and fitness providers.
With nearly 70 years’ experience, Tomkinsons offer warehouse, office and commercial space to businesses of all types across the South East of England.
From their base in Marden, they also provide logistics and transport services including receiving, storing and dispatching all types of goods through third party partners.
“Six decades on, we’re proud to continue the legacy of the Fruit Show Warehouse, preserving the warehouses’ history while ensuring it serves the needs of today’s businesses, large or small” concludes Mark. Find out more about Tomkinsons here: https://tomkinsons.co.uk/
